9Toast Cafe @ Dhoby Ghaut

They’ve recently rolled out their misu series so you can satisfy both your coffee/matcha and tiramisu cravings together! Signature honey toast had a lovely caramelised exterior and fluffy interior. I would recommend “that’s so cheesy” over the “purple haze toast”. Detailed review can be found on my Instagram food account @kyscals!

The smoked salmon, it's both appetising & a healthier choice for me ! My husband like the chicken katsu sando, it has a crispy layer, with juicy & tender on the inside. Absolutely delectable ! We tried the tiramisu latte & black, certainly a delightful drink to boost our day ahead

Love how their toasts are honey glazed so it gives it a sweet and slightly crunchy exterior which goes super well with the savoury fillings. The new misu series drinks were super good too. The latte and matcha were a little muted but I feel like it’s so that the drink doesn’t taste too jelak when paired with the thick, rich, savoury cream. Really feels like a dessert drink.

So impressed with their yam toast! It pairs well with their matcha latte (we asked for 0 sugar). The toast was down to perfection giving you that crunch and sweetness, while the salted milk cuts through the sweetness of the yam paste. A definite must try!!

I ordered kani mentai sando and strawberry match, and both are very flavorful. I didnt expect the bread is honey glazed, but it was the kick of this sando flavor. Sweetness gives more essence to the flavor. Strawberry match was also nice! Actually the location makes me hesitate to try, but definetly worth it to try! Will come again!

Update on 9 Sep: tiramisu latte was super nice! Very dessert like. New smoked salmon sando was refreshing and nice too. Very cosy and nice cafe! Food and drinks were good - had the purple haze latte which had a really smooth sweet potato paste. Not artificial, natural sweetness from sweet potato rly shone through. Yuzu matcha was good too - yuzu did not overpower the matcha, which is usually the case for many other establishments. Tried the toasts and I’m very pleasantly surprised. The exterior of the toasts reminds me of sugar butter toast because they spread honey and butter on it and toast it such that the exterior gets really crunchy. Preferred the egg mayo over the chicken katsu as the simplicity of egg mayo allowed the toast to shine! Chicken katsu is still good with that said

After failing my exam, I was super hungry & I chanced upon this cozy looking cafe. They offer different kind of salad & mostly Japanese inspired sandwiches. I ordered the mentaiko fries, chicken sandwich & tiramisu latte. It took quite long for the food to be served but understandably so, as there was only 1 staff working when I was there. But she was so nice about it. Fries tasted good & sandwich was not too bad either but tiramisu latte was a bit too sweet for my liking.

Ordered the purple haze toast and loved it! Sweetness level of the taro purple potato paste was just nice whilst retaining the natural taste and they were really generous with the kinako milk mochi appreciate how all the flavours complemented each other really nicely! Cafe is tucked in a quiet corner in Singapore shopping centre but relatively near dhoby MRT and pretty easy to find, quite a nice place to chill away from the crowds
